I have been teaching Art in BPS for 25 years. I studied painting at Boston University, undergraduate and graduate. I am  a narrative oil painter and received a Fund For Excellence Grant in 2006. For four years, I have been taking Level one and two of a Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) Professional Development at the Gardner Museum. I was very excited to finally find a method of introducing Art to my students where they would discuss the work and in the process make their own personal connections. I have presented professionally for BPS, on a state and national level. Last year, I adapted the VTS script so that it would be accessible to Special Education students. The process I will be presenting was adopted by The Gardner Museum. This year, I am researching inclusion and equity in the art room. On my own, I love to read history, watch film noir. and listen to all kinds of live music.
